Spigg Island Madeira Beach - Hurricane Helene Aftermath

Rest in Paradise to our 1st shop on Madeira Beach
Hurricane Helene Aftermath
September 2024

Spigg Island Fam! We've had quite a few of you guys message us to check in on us after Hurrican Helene so we are here to post an update. The storm surge and flood waters busted in the double doors of our shop Spigg Island located on Madeira Way in September of 2024... with it, it took our a sense of our livelihood, our investments and a HUGE piece of our hearts. Like others in our community, we were devastated by the aftermath of the storm. Our area was ravaged. So many businesses and homes were damaged beyond repair. Our community was unrecognizable in areas and many were left homeless and out of work. Still to this day clean up efforts are being made. But on the flip side of the coin, it has been amazing to see everyone come together and slowly rebuild. We all lost so much.

Picking up pieces one at a time. We lost about half our inventory at the shop between the storm and looters. It was once our dream and little slice of paradise. We absolutely adored meeting visitors from all over the world in our little store. Tourist and locals alike, would stop by and get to know us on a personal level... we made so many friends near and far. We will rebuild our business just not at our Madeira location sadly. We are ok and that’s all that matters, everything else can be replaced eventually. Much love and thanks to so many that have sent us messages of love and support. We hope you come visit us at our new location once we rebuild.

Please pray for all that were affected by this storm❤️‍🩹

Much Love,
Alex & Jen of #SpiggIsland
